David Owen has coached all aspects 
of tackle football from minor to 
university and beyond.  He has held 
many executive positions with 
football organizations and authored 
articles on coaching philosophy.  
Certified as a clinic course conductor
through the National Coaching 
Certification Program (NCCP), David 
has received numerous coach-of-the-year 
and builder awards.

David Owen has also had a life-long interest
in education. He served on a metropolitan 
Board of Education in several capacities.  
After David retired the David Owen Supreme 
Trophy was named in his honor to celebrate 
50 years of coaching for various 
organizations in Scarborough and 20 years
as a trustee.  The trophy is for Excellence 
in Senior Football and was awarded to the 
Scarborough high-school senior football 
champions.
